Course Entry/Admission Requirements for B.Ed. in Special Needs Education at Bomet University College

  • Minimum mean grade of C + (plus) at KCSE or two principals in two teaching subjects and a subsidiary at  KCSE or its equivalent.
  • Diploma holders in Education with a credit and above from a recognized institution will join in the second year subject to taking prescribe first year courses including those with a pass will join at the first year.
  • Should have a C+ and above in two suitable teaching subjects combination.

Duration of Study

The programme will take a minimum of four (4) academic years (two semesters each) except for those who join under the conditions specified in the Admission Requirements.

Requirements for International Applicants

  1. All academic certificates and transcripts should be translated to English and authenticated by relevant institutions i.e. Ministry of Education/Ministry of Foreign Affairs/Kenyan Embassy in the Country of origin.
  2. All foreign university certificates should be presented to the Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA) or the Commission for University Education (CUE) for accreditation of foreign institutions.
  3. All foreign high school/secondary school certificates should be presented to the Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA) or the Commission for University Education (CUE) for equation.
  4. International Applicants within the Country will be required meet the above requirements before submitting their applications.
  5. International applicants outside the country will be issued with provisional offers of admission upon submission of their applications subject to fulfillment of the above requirements during registration.
  6. Kenyan citizens with International Certificates will be expected to meet requirement number 2 above.
